A proper bike fit is often ignored by triathletes, but it's one of the best ways to avoid injuries on the bike. An improperly fit bike will cause your biomechanics to be off, and when the body has to compensate for poor positioning, you're primed for an injury.
Plus, it's hard to get stronger and more efficient if your body is always compensating for a bike that's not set up specifically to match your body metrics.
The best option for a bike fit is to find a qualified bike fitter in your area; hands-on is always best. Ask other triathletes or cycling friends for referrals. However, if you live somewhere that you can't find a bike fitter, there are virtual options.
VIRTUAL BIKE FIT
For a virtual bike fit, we recommend Matt Bottrill. We have worked with Matt for virtual bike fitting and he's excellent. You can find Matt at https://www.mattbottrillperformancecoaching.com/copy-of-performance-bike-fit-2-0 .
